cube function on calculator

I'm getting really bored in my math class. It's cube function on calculator, but we're covering higher grade syllabus. The topics are really complex and that’s why I usually doze off in the class. I like the subject and don’t want to fail, but I have a real problem understanding it. Can someone guide me?
