learning basic algebra

Hello everyone!. Ever since I have encountered learning basic algebra at school I never seem to be able to understand it well. I am very good at all the other chapters, but this particular branch seems to be my weak point. Can some one guide me in understanding it well?

I remember having problems with radical expressions, graphing circles and multiplying matrices. Algebrator is a truly great piece of algebra software. I have used it through several algebra classes - College Algebra, Algebra 1 and Basic Math. I would simply type in the problem and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear.
