solving equations third order quadratic equations

I have a couple of problems based on solving equations third order quadratic equations I have tried a lot to solve them myself but in vain. Our professor has asked us to figure them out ourselves and then explain them to the whole class. I fear that I will be chosen to do so. Please guide me!

What exactly don't you understand about solving equations third order quadratic equations? I remember having difficulty with the same thing in Remedial Algebra, so I think I could try to give you some suggestions on how to approach such problems. However if you want help with algebra on a long term basis, then you should check out Algebrator, that's what I did in my Algebra 1, and I have to say it's the greatest! It's much cheaper than a private teacher and you can work with it anytime you want. It's very easy to use it, even if you never ever used a similar program.
